We’ll have one bath towel and one face cloth for each person and hand towels in each of the bathrooms. Bring more if you need them. *** Food and drink of course and any plastic wrap, paper towels, tin foil, storage containers to take leftovers home in. You’ll find basic condiments, some spices and STARTER items such as drinking water, paper towels and septic friendly toilet paper. Bring any additional items you may need. *** Wood for your campfire… nothing like a cozy fire to gather around at the end of a beautiful day! Also good to have: – Life jackets (not supplied) – Slippers to wear inside, no outdoor shoes inside please – Your favourite board games and PS4 games or a good book – Sunscreen and bug spray And if you forget anything, Parry Sound is only 15 minutes away.

SEPTIC TANK SYSTEM – Are you familiar with using a septic system? It’s a little different than city services. ** In Kitchens or Bathroom Sinks – No grease, oil, chemical, food down the sink drains ** For Bathrooms Toilets – Flush only septic friendly toilet paper and nothing else, not even if it is described as flushable ** For Parking – Only on gravel driveway at garage. NO parking or driving across the LAWN **Septic system is underneath the lawn and can not support any heavy weight on top**
KITCHENS – – Stoves use Propane Gas, this is not like your natural gas stove in the city – Always turn on the fan when using the stove burners or the oven – Never cover the bottom of the oven with tin foil as flames come from the bottom! – Save grease or oil in a jar or can, or dump in the fire pit or cool and dispose of in garbage (not in sink) – Drinking water and cooler is in the main floor kitchen – Bring extra garbage bags and water – If you finish any condiments or spices, text us so we can replenish them after you leave… and bring your favourites along with extra paper towels/napkins!
BARBEQUES – – There are 2 propane BBQs. – The large one is on the front deck and the regular sized one is on the back deck – BBQ Utensils are found on the right side of the kitchen, top middle drawer – After using, let the large one COOL COMPLETELY before closing and putting the cover on
GARBAGE & RECYCLING – All recycling and garbage is to be taken to the dump BY YOU before your departure. This is bear country! DO NOT leave any bagged garbage or food outdoors as this will attract raccoons, bears and other wild animals – Yes, we’ve seen them all! Temporary overflow garbage and recycling can be held in the garage until your departure or next trip to the dump.
Separate waste into Garbage and Recyclables into (1) cardboard/paper and (2) metals/glass. Waste Station – location and hours of operation (only a few minutes away) Christie Waste Transfer Station 39 Star Lake Rd, Parry Sound, ON P2A 2W9 Summer Hours – May 1st – October 31st OPEN – Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun – 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Closed – Tues, Thurs Attendant may ask for the cottage address – 28 Southdale Road, Seguin (off Isabella Lake Rd) For longer stays, we suggest disposing of garbage and recycling periodically, rather than leaving all to the last day.
THE DOCK & LAKE – – Bring your own swimming towels (house towels stay inside only) – Bring your own life jackets (not supplied). If you are borrowing our personal life jackets, they must be kept in the shed when not being used – do not leave on the dock – SUP paddle boards and kayak must be face down on the dock overnight and when not in use, to keep from blowing away. Paddles should be stored underneath – If it’s raining, put peddle boat on the dock upside down too or it could take on water and could sink – Do Not MOVE the umbrellas, it is secured to the dock – Shallow entry to the water is on the right side, exercise caution as the flat rocks can get quite slippery – NO Diving off the dock, depth here is just over 5 feet max And please put everything back where you found it before your departure
HOT TUB – Please DO: – Do shower before getting in (lotions will create foam, take longer and alot of chemicals to clean) – Do use the hose to wash any mud/grass off feet (Towel/mat provided on shoe rack in back bedroom) – Do use a plastic cup with lid (found in the kitchen) – Do adjust the temperature as desired – Do connect your phone to listen to your own music, pairing code 2288 – Do turn on the cool lights Please DO NOT: – Do NOT jump or dive in – Do NOT sit on the sides – Do NOT overturn or force the knobs – Do NOT go in with muddy/grassy feet – Do NOT bring any glass container/bottles in with you (or anything else we haven’t mentioned) The COVER: – The cover is in 2 pieces – Opens from the middle, outwards towards the ends – Each half flips over itself and then slides to the ends into the holder – To OPEN, start with the back part (closest to the lake) and when CLOSING, flip that back part last – Use 2 people to Open and Close the parts When finished: – Add 2 tspns of chemicals per person – Put covers back on (no gaps) – Turn off lights And have fun!
PARKING – Please park on the driveway on the right side, in front of garage and enter through the front door here as well. The entry code will be sent to you in a separate message the day before check in. ***Strictly NO Parking or Driving across the front lawn (the Septic System is under the lawn). You are welcome to use the lawn for activities, play and stargazing at night… it’s a beautiful sight!
